06-16-2006 Meeting notes
First off let me say SORRY for posting up the wrong meeting date. I mistakenly put it up at 06-19-2006 because I was looking at LAST month's calendar which just happened to have the 19th be the third Friday. I was not alerted of this gross error until I was already at the mall for the meeting so I was unable to change it. SORRY! And now to the actual meeting. Like I said in the original announcement this meeting was special: it marked the one year anniversary of 561's first meeting and the one year anniversary of Binrev Meetings as a whole. We celebrated by having cake! I've got pics around here somewhere I'll try and get posted up.
As promised, I held a short discussion regarding physical document security and destruction with the attendees of the meeting. It seems that I'm by far the most paranoid of the group. I will be putting this data into my paper on the same subject once I get some time to write it (I've been very busy with music journalism lately too). The talk was pretty well fielded and I got some good data from everyone else and LogosX was very interested in it. I'll hopefully have this paper done by the end of July but we'll see.
After the meeting, there was another GuinRev meeting. What's GuinRev you ask? It's our fancy term for "going to a pub and drinking Guinness until we're retarded". This time the discussion was a lot more "geeky" than last time in that Meaflux and BlunderBuss spent a good amount of time talking about physics and other stuff (I wasn't really listening, I was getting hammered :X). Overall, it was very fun and we had a new attendee of the meeting this month: BlunderBuss's brother. WELCOME! Hope to see you next month!
See you all in July!
